Halloween is upon us, and although you’re probably too old to go trick or treating without looking a bit creepy, you can certainly raise a beer or two and party down. Costumes for the season tend to fall into two categories - low effort and built on a budget of less than what a beer costs, or, oh so edgy and referential to some scandalous societal issue of the day.
Whichever route you choose to go down, here some places you can go get your kicks at.
Our unBOOlievably fun bar crawl runs every week, but for these two days we’ll be scaring it up a little with Halloween-themed challenges, and we’ll probably also be giving out free shots to the best costume efforts. Bonus points if you find someone attractive and say to them “Hey boo-tiful!”.
Feel inclined to creep it real and help the less fortunate? Well, head along to Heroes’ Square with a pumpkin and some canned food. The food goes to charity while you get to carve out your creative tension.
Let's get this party startled! Budapest’s most badass boat party will take on a Halloween theme. To get people in the mood, all the staff will be wearing costumes - and you should too - because, again, we might reward those that do. And, top bantz if you can convince the DJ to play the theme tune to Ghostbusters!
How does unlimited beer/wine/punch for 2 hours sound? Fangtastic right? Well, we’re going to hook you up with that and 7 different drinking games based on the 7 deadly sins where you can win killer prizes. And if you’re still standing after all that, we’ll probably go party somewhere.
If you’ve got it, flaunt it, or, should we say haunt it! Most bars and clubs in Budapest will have events on this weekend. Budapest, being the cool place that it is, draws DJs from all over, so expect something on offer for everyone.
Places worth checking out for cool events include Dürer Kert, Barba Negra, Ötkert, Morrisons, Liget Club, Kuplung and Fogas Haz.
And, don’t forget, if you do decide to do a little trick or treating, candy is yummy and all, but don't forget to save room for 'I scream.’ ;)

Budapest is built for summer. Frankly, it’s the season we do best, which is probably why it’s so busy here when it gets hot - with tourists and locals competing for every inch of green space and water this city has to offer, and bars scrambling to get and many outdoor seats set up as possible.Read more
