The Best Drunk Pizza in Budapest

We all know that after a long night out at the club, there’s nothing quite like a big slice of pizza.

In a city as wild as Budapest, you’ll be happy to know there’s no shortage of amazing pizza places- unfortunately, there’s also no shortage of terrible places. Don’t have a fun night out ruined by shitty food, check out these 6 spots for a guaranteed delicious meal.

YELLOW CHURCH PIZZA

If you’re looking for the perfect drunk food, look no further. A hidden favourite amongst Budapest’s backpackers, this place needs no name and doesn’t actually have one. Affectionately referred to by most as “Yellow Church Pizza”, it’s a shining beacon of hope for any drunk visitor. Located right in the middle of the party district opposite a big yellow church, open late, and selling slices for only 300HUF (€1), it’s not hard to see why Yellow Church Pizza has worked its way into the heart of so many hungry travellers.

PIZZA ME

One of the most popular pizza chains in Budapest, Pizza Me is everywhere. With a great range and good service, it’s not only great drunk food but perfect for any occasion. A slice of their Nutella pizza might make you hate yourself, but you’ll love every bite of it. Just a warning though- thin crust lovers only! With 3 in the party district alone, you’ll almost definitely stumble into one during your trip.

PIZZA FORTE

If you’re looking for a fast and delicious meal for under 600HUF (€2), this is the place for you. With over 10 locations around the city, a Pizza Forte is never far away. Their best offer- for less than 600HUF, you can get yourself a whole mini 17cm pizza! The mini pizzas come in 12 different types from margherita to meatlovers and everything in between. If you’re just looking for a quick snack, their 350HUF slices aren’t bad either!

PIZZA AND BEER

Located in the biggest ruin bar in Budapest, Pizza and Beer is drunk convenience at its finest. Take a quick break from partying and and enjoy some amazing food without ever having to leave the bar! Their single slices are only 450HUF, making them the perfect 2am snack!

PIZZA HUT

When you’re travelling, do you ever just want something familiar and reliable? Luckily for you, Budapest has Pizza Hut! A little slice of home for many travellers, Pizza Hut might be a boring choice, but at least you know what you’re getting. Check their website for daily deals too!

And finally, my personal favourite...

PIZZICA

Pizza might be the perfect drunk food, but some pizza deserves to be enjoyed sober. Pizzica is only a short walk from the main street of Budapest and is some of the best fast food in the city. Friendly staff, great service, and a selection of Hungarian craft beers makes Pizzica a definite must-eat for any traveller. It’s not open late so don’t head here after a night at the club! Instead, fill up on the best pizza in town before heading to the world famous ruin bars- conveniently, they’re only a 5 minute walk away!

Bars for the brave and artistic can be found where you can get yourself some new ink, listen to hardcore music and have a drink after. Or for the lighter hearted; order yourself a cafe latte with a Hedgehog on the side to play with. (Yep, we have that too).

When articles about Budapest pop up in the press, or photos of the city appear on Instagram, it’s usually to document the relaxed lifestyle of young locals and the debauched antics of its stag-happy tourists. For sure the city is great for those in their 20s, but it also has a lot to offer older travelers, loved-up couples, and history and culture mavens. We’re proud to say that Budapest truly is a city for anyone and everyone, so come see it for yourself.

Craft beer is big in Budapest right now, with an explosion of bars serving local creations and imported tipples. Had you come only a few years ago, though, you’d have been pressed to find it served anywhere but a few dingy basement bars in the fringes of the city. Now, however, you’ll wander the downtown and be spoilt for choice on every street. Charming cellar bars, chic warehouse-style places and hopping beer gardens, Budapest has it all, and in this guide we’re going to introduce you to some of the chillest.
